Girl peers at alien, watches its smooth movements, long white hair shimmering in the sunset.
Hens in the coop cluck wild like their party’s gone wrong. Alien shows Girl how to lock the gate.
There’s a hen out though, and another.
“Chickens,” Girl points.
“Ch-ck,” Alien tries to form the word, it’s been learning.
“No, look,” Girl gestures.
Alien pauses, turns, but is too late. The hens found a hole, they’re all out now, rushing past the strange pair.
Girl and Alien scramble away, something akin to laughter tinkling between them.
“N-no, st-op,” Alien says.
They make chase, together.

You’ve reminded me of several StarTrek Movies where Spock has had to cover his ears to fit into a visit to Earth’s past. An of course there’s the famous hairless chicken of ET! :)

What fabulous reminders! Spock and ET are favourites of so many of us. Uniquely loveable characters they are. I’m inspired by Spock’s passion for knowledge and other societies in particular, despite his own differences.

I watched a documentary about Lenard Nimoy – he was a very interesting man. He wrote poetry and had perfect pitch!

Yes he really was! What a loss for humanity, but he inspired so many, and left his mark on many hearts. I think I’ve watched the same documentary too, but will have to rewatch to be sure.

“We’re out girls! Run!!” I can now picture these hens laughing at the pair as they stay just out of reach. Such a fun image. Thanks for stopping by!

That’s quite an image. And why not? Why wouldn’t a visitor from another planet end up involved in a chicken escapade?
